<hi style=afpcap>Culver developed their PQ-8 Cadet radio controlled target aircraft with a design which was slightly larger. The prototype was ordered as the XPQ-14 with a Franklin O-300 engine and was followed by 75 production YPQ-14As. The Army acquired more than 1,300 PQ-14As with all but 200 being assigned to the Navy as TD2C-1s. Further development lead to the YPQ-14B with 25 built, and the PQ-14B with close to 600 being produced. The P prefix was later dropped with the aircraft becoming the Q-14.</hi>
